Your troop is invited to participate in Sycamore Service Unit’s

Thinking Day event

Saturday, March 13, 2010

10 a.m. to noon

Church of the Savior

8005 Pfeiffer Rd.

What is Thinking Day? Each year on February 22, girls participate in activities, games and projects with global themes to honor their sister Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in other countries.

What does your troop do at Thinking Day? Your troop will vote on a country to research and represent at the event. Troops may design display boards, bring food and games that represent the country, items that represent the country, etc. Your troop will visit each display and learn more about the countries represented.

What do you need to provide: You can choose to bring food to sample, games or songs to teach and a sticker/stamp as your country’s passport cancellation. Each girl will be given a “passport” and can stamp the displays she visited.

What else will we do? There will be a special guest from Matthew 25 Minisitries to speak to the girls about global poverty and hunger.

What is the cost? One donation item for Matthew 25 Ministries per person (girls and adults).

Deadline: Please email Christina Teed, Program Services Specialist, christinateed@girlscoutsofwesternohio.org  with your troop’s top-three country choices by Friday, Feb. 12, 2010. We will confirm your country by Tuesday, Feb. 16.

You must RSVP by March 1st and include the number of girls and adults attending. This event is for registered members only.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or Christina Teed.
